Rey Trombetta is a digital storyteller who is passionate about documenting the transformational power of the arts and creativity on individuals and communities. 

Based in London, Rey trained both as a musician, playing percussion with children and young people’s orchestras in Caracas, and as a multimedia journalist.

Between 2000 and 2008, he reported on conflicts in Afghanistan, Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, and Colombia, and human rights in China, Cuba and Venezuela.

From 2009, he has focused on telling the stories of organisations that help individuals find inspiration and empowerment through music and the arts. This includes Venezuela’s El Sistema orchestras, In Harmony and Sistema England, Making Music, Sound Voice and Sweden’s Dream Orchestra for young refugees. He has been Head of Marketing and Communications at Streetwise Opera since October 2017.

Rey still plays percussion, though he exchanged the timpani for Cuban congas, and is currently learning the clarinet.
